
Giving birth to next generation floor grinders
Challenge
At the time, HTC was recently acquired by a private equity firm seeking sustainable growth over time. As one step on that journey, HTC was planning on launching a new range of floor grinders. With already great competence internally, HTC looked for a strong partner to lead the development team in order to realize the ambitious targets set by the board.
Result
The new floor grinder range, called Duratiq, introduced several new features, all requested by professional end-users. The sum of these features generated an improved work environment and overall increased productivity for the operator. The products quickly exceeded sales targets and HTC managed to reclaim the market leading position. Duratiq was also recognized with multiple design and innovation awards. The company was later sold to Husqvarna, with Duratiq as a main catalyst.
